Lift 1

The frames are prepared for lifting

Lift 2

The crane takes the strain

Lift 3

The frames are raised

Lift 5

The wheels complete with axleboxes waiting to be rolled under the frames.

Lift 4

The first set of wheels is rolled under the frames.

Lift 6

The third set of wheels is positioned under the frames.

The frames were then lowered and the axleboxes manouvered into the hornguides one axle at a time. This operation can be tricky but on this occassion everything went smoothly, aided by some nifty work with a crowbar to line up the front wheelset.

Lift 7

Eddystone is now a rolling chassis. The crane is preparing to lift the boiler of Holland America Line.

Lift 8

The crane was also used to put the newly fabricated cab on the frames
