AGM and Members Weekend

2016

The 2016 AGM will be held at the Engine House at Highley, on the Severn Valley Railway, on Saturday 1st October. We plan to start at 14:30. Full details and formal notice will be sent to shareholders nearer the date.

This year we plan three days of Driving and Firing at the SVR with 34053 Sir Keith Park. This will be on Wednesday to Friday 28 - 30th September. Shareholders who wish to take part are asked to email Nick Thompson.

2015

In 2015 we ran three days of Driving & Firing on Manston, with 8 trips per day. Warmest thanks are due to the Swanage Railway crews and operating staff for looking after our shareholders so well.

The AGM was held in the Mowlem building on Swanage sea front. It marked the retirement of Geoff Thompson as our Chairman, who was replaced by Simon Troy. Nic Drukker and Nick Thompson were re-elected to the board. The usual resolutions were passed. Around 40 shareholders attended and it provided a useful opportunity for discussions.

A record 48 shareholders had driving and firing turns this year. Dave Druce and Simon Gray pose next to Manston on their return to Swanage.

The AGM was well attended, and there were interesting discussions about the company's possible restoration and overhaul plans.

2014

The 2014 AGM was held on Saturday 27th September at the Highley Engine House. During the preceding three days members enjoyed a series of exceptional footplate runs on 34053 Sir Keith Park.

2013

The 2013 AGM was held at Harmans Cross Village Hall (next to the station). There was a very good attendance, and we had run two days of Driving & Firing with Manston on the preceding Thursday and Friday.

2012

The 2012 AGM was held at Highley Engine House on the SVR, giving shareholders a first chance to see Sir Keith Park in action.

2011

The 2011 AGM was held at 14:30 on Saturday 15th October at Harmans Cross Village Hall (next to the station). Shareholder driving/firing trips were scheduled for 12th, 13th and 14th October.

We did not have shareholder driving/firing sessions on 15th as train hauled by Oliver Cromwell (inward) and Tangmere (return) visited the Swanage Railway. Its return through Harmans Cross led to the rapid conclusion of business at the AGM.
